We want you to feel safe when providing your personal data to us at Start Communication. The purpose of this policy is to inform you about how we handle your personal data, what we use it for, who has access to it, and how you can exercise your rights. All personal data processing is done in accordance with applicable privacy laws and the guidelines outlined in this policy.
The IT manager at Start is responsible for the personal data processing that takes place on our website.
Start processes your personal data when you:
Register through the contact form
Purchase products or services
Sign up for our courses and seminars
Subscribe to our newsletter
Apply for job openings or express interest in working with us
Contact us for any other reason
When individuals make inquiries, we register their name, address, phone number, and email address. When representatives of a company make orders or inquiries, we register the contact person's name, address, phone number, and work email address.
In other situations, we register the information you choose to provide. Start strives not to register personal identification numbers or sensitive personal data. However, if you provide such information — such as noting an allergy or dietary requirements for a seminar, or submitting a personal identification number in a job application — we assume you wish for this data to be registered.
The personal data you provide is registered with us and used for:
Administration and delivery of ordered services, and to respond to inquiries.
Customer care and relevant information about our products.
Sales and marketing purposes (in the form of direct mail or phone contact).
When you apply for jobs, submit interest requests, participate in surveys, provide data for benchmarking, or request to be contacted, we use your personal data solely for the purposes for which you provided it.
The processing of personal data is necessary for our legitimate interests, which may include providing the company’s services, fulfilling contracts with you or your employer, following up on customer contacts and deliveries, protecting the company’s interest in running a profitable business, and fulfilling legal obligations.
We never sell your information, and we only share personal data with third parties when it’s necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations or legal requirements. However, in situations such as registrations or orders, information may be shared with external parties to the extent required for managing participation in a course, seminar, or completing an order.
The same applies when you apply for jobs, submit interest requests for employment, participate in surveys, provide data for benchmarking, or request to be contacted by us. We never share your personal data outside the EU.
In all of these cases, Start is the data controller, and the suppliers we work with are data processors. When personal data is shared with third parties, data processing agreements are put in place to ensure secure handling of the data. Finally, personal data may also be disclosed when required by law, regulation, or government decision.
We only process personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, after which it is deleted. This means we retain your personal data only as long as necessary to provide the service, process payments, address complaints, or similar purposes. If you have consented to having your contact details remain in our database for marketing purposes even after the customer relationship has ended, they will stay until you request deletion.
If you’ve applied for a job with us, we store your application for one year unless you agree to keep it for future recruitment, up to a maximum of two years. For spontaneous applications not linked to a specific position, we keep them for two years.
If you have questions regarding this policy, the processing of personal data at Start, or wish to have incorrect data corrected or deleted, you can contact vera.karlsson@startcommunication.com
You also have the right to contact the data controller once per year to request information about the personal data we hold about you, request corrections, transfers, or ask for processing limitations, objections, or deletion of your data. If you have complaints regarding our processing of your personal data, you have the right to file a complaint with the Swedish Data Protection.
